International Insurance Conference on Catastrophe Events – A Challenge
The PII held its second International Insurance Conference at Sheraton Hotel, Karachi from 10th-12th April, 2012.
The Pakistan Insurance Institute (PII) held its second International Insurance Conference at Sheraton Hotel, Karachi from 10th-12th April, 2012.The idea was to bring together the insurance fraternity under one roof to discuss upon “Catastrophe Events” posing a challenge in today’s world globally.
PII brought together a diverse number of internationally renowned speakers from ACE, Aon Benfield, ARIG, Swiss Re, UIB, Willis, Akhtar & Hasan, Ceylinco, Crescent Global, IUCN Pakistan, Marsh and Mitsui Sumitomo Re.
Pakistan’s most eloquent speakers, Mr.Javed Jabbar & Mr. Samee ul Hasan also graced this event and shared the Social & Cultural dimensions of Natural Catastrophes and Actuarial Aspects of Catastrophe Events with great brilliance.
Some of the other eminent speakers touched upon a range of subjects from Climate change, the Rising Awareness of NatCat, Catastrophe Assessment & Management to the Role of a Global Broker.
Chairman, Conference Committee & Managing Director, Jubilee General, Mr. Tahir Ahmed, covered the topic “Pakistan: In the Eye of the Storm” which highlighted the natural calamities faced by Pakistan since its inception and the losses suffered by the insurance industry. The graphical presentation with real pictures from all the events captured the audience’s complete attention and was quite engaging.
This event was an excellent platform to enlighten oneself with speakers from all over the globe and the perfect opportunity for exchanging ideas and networking with professionals and international delegates.
